Pacific Music Enterprises, Inc., was founded by Tadao
“Terry” Terajima in 1971, and has since promoted many
musical artists from varying genres in Japan and the Far
East.  Early concerts began by bringing many traditional
Japanese artists to California, introducing the culture and
soul of Japan to the United States as well as giving Japanese
Americans an opportunity to see some of the biggest artists
from their homeland.

After becoming an established producer and promoter in
California, Pacific Music began promoting concerts in Japan
in the late seventies with artists such as the late Perry
Como, The Manhattan Transfer, as well as Anita Baker,
Patti LaBelle, Kenny Rogers and Gregory Hines in the
eighties.

As Pacific Music continued to bring to Asia various famous
artists of the west, they expanded their reach into the
classical world with such artists such as Mikhail
Baryshnikov, and Van Cliburn, as well as Mirella Freni and
Sarah Brightman in the late nineties.

ABOUT US
The nineties continued a revival from many of the artists of the eighties, as the involvement with
America’s musical leaders grew to include such artists as George Shearing, Chaka Khan and Shirley
MacLaine.  Several arena-sized crossover concerts were produced in Japan and Taiwan featuring the
collaboration of José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Diana Ross.

Most notably, Pacific Music been the exclusive representative for Plácido Domingo’s Far East concerts
since 1986, and has proudly promoted The Three Tenors concerts in Japan in 1996, 1999 and in 2002
for the World Cup.  They also brought together opera’s most illustrious duet artists, featuring Plácido
Domingo and Mirella Freni in Japan in 1994 and 2004.

Recently Pacific Music was given the opportunity to exclusively promote and represent the rising young
tenor, Salvatore Licitra, in Asia in 2003.  He has performed concert tours in Taiwan, Japan, and China
and his popularity continues to rise boundlessly.

The new century shifted Pacific Music’s expansion to countries other than Japan, and has been
fortunate to work with leading companies and corporations with strong governmental association in both
mainland China and Taiwan.
